The purpose of this initiative is to transform the strong demand for K-beauty products in Algeria, which has been constrained by import regulations, into opportunities for production-based cooperation. By doing so, the project aims to create a new export breakthrough and initiate exports for Korean beauty brands. Algeria has been promoting the development of its domestic manufacturing industry. As part of this policy, the country allows imports only on a limited basis for products that can be produced locally. Despite this challenging business environment, this initiative represents a proactive attempt to promote a consumer goods project for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic. The project seeks to move beyond the traditional export model centered on finished beauty products. Instead, it aims to explore a new K-beauty market by exporting raw materials, ingredients, and machinery/equipment that can support large-scale local production in Algeria. Compared to finished products, raw materials and production equipment required for local manufacturing are subject to relatively lower levels of import restrictions, making them more feasible export items. Through this approach, Korean companies can go beyond simple product exports and develop new market opportunities through production cooperation and technology exchange with local partners.
