Jocoos is a technology company on a mission to develop video transcoding technology as well as real time video instance editing technology to be applied to mobile and web environment.

3. Representative Business Models

Video solution (Editor, 2D, 3D, VR video player, Live streaming solution, Transcoding solution)

We, Jocoos, offer a unique video transcoding technology for mobile video file streaming which uses different transcoding process from existence method. Also, we have an instance video editing  technology (named NAIVE) which uses OpenGL to playback and apply visual effects to existing videos in real time according to a set of simple instructions giving the illusion of an edited video consisting of existing videos is being played. (Patent filed in Korea & US). With those two unique video technologies, those unique video related technologies are applied to VR video player which is developed by own.

Video transcoding technology

  Variety video file formats are now consumed on different service platform. However, almost of video related services are using only one video file format with changing file type which is service provider preferred. For example, When you upload video file to Youtube, they changes your video file to flash video format to be played on. If you have to pass video files to variety video related or to a medium of advertisement, you should change video file format that can be accepted by destinations. Also, if destination servicer provider uses particular video codecs, you should follow their policy. Jocoos’ transcoder changes meta data of video file’s header to be read by native video player on every single mobile device without changing video file format.

- Video file format : no changes (you can use original file format for being played on mobile device)

- Video quality : Less than 8% of original video quality (if you use stand alone, more than 10% quality loss will be occurred.)

- Video file size : About 6 ~ 20 times compression effects

- (e.g. 3.86GB -> 242.2MB, 6.5M -> 342kb)

- Processing speed : About 2 ~ 5 mins (e.g. 700MB will be completed in 5 mins) 

Real time video streaming technology

Cutting 3 second of real time video streaming chunk to produce as a file, Jocoos’ transcoding processing is applied, then transcoded real time video streaming files are added to video play list which is read by video player.

Features

- No more than 10 second latency occurred.

- Real time video streaming can be read by every mobile device and web browser without installing software or codecs

- When real time video streaming finishes, streaming video will be saved without any particular process, so it can be used as files.  

Online Instance video editing (NAIVE)

NAIVE is providing SDK including editor and player which can be applied to source code implementation.  NAIVE video player can receive multi-media files such as images and videos with playback information which consists of text base file from NAIVE editor. With using NAIVE editor, multimedia files and effects are sent to player to be displayed by OpenGL library.

FLIPFLOP Transcoder & Live & Webinar

FLIPFLOP has three products which are FLIPFLOP Transcoder for video compression and transcoding, FLIPFLOP Live for video streaming service and live commerce service, and FLIPFLOP Webinar for online forum.

FLIPFLOP is provided by SDK and API as SaaS type software.

Currently, FLIPFLOP is used on Korean major commerce platforms which are Hyundai, Lotte, and Shinsegae.
