Tojeong Lee Ji-ham (1517-1578), a feng shui geographer during the Joseon Dynasty, named it “Miragok” to mean that the river flowing through the twelve ridges and valleys is as beautiful as the twelve unfolded silk skirts of a beautiful woman.
