Detailed Description
I was afraid of death. Even in my childhood, when I had never seen death firsthand, the idea of existing in this world for just a moment and then disappearing was sad and frightening. As a young child, hiding under my blanket, I would imagine reaching old age and each night, I struggled to swallow the indescribable fear and sadness of the moment when my breath would cease. Why must things eventually vanish and why must we die? Why do we have to live as humans, dogs, or weeds on this planet, in this world, in forms of animals we never chose, only to face death?
I didn't understand the reason for the existence of beings destined to disappear. When I had to say goodbye to my companion dog of many years, I once again despaired over death. However, I did not see death as the end. The final scene, where they turned into a handful of ashes, was not extinction but a beginning. Returning to the earth, sprouting anew within it, we exist infinitely within nature. In this project, I integrated the forms of nature with various curves and shapes. Familiar landscapes and undulating curves that hint at beginnings and ends illustrate the cyclical nature of life. Amidst this fleeting world, comprised of countless fragments, I exist. The countless "yous" and "mes" existing momentarily have transformed into nature, depicted with a pencil.
We are now retracing the path we once took.
Once again, into nature, we go.
