Single-use caps are consumable items that must be used along with both HandyRay-Lite and HandyRay-Pro.

The major functions of using disposable caps are to protect the laser aperture against external dust and shocks(contaminants).

In order to operate the laser lancing device, first, the interlock sensor in the HandyRay-Lite is unlocked and ready to operate only when the single-use cap is put into place(Cap interlock sensor), second, contact the Laser aperture (Contact Sensor) with a single-use cap the skin of fingertip, third, press the shot button for radiation. If the safety interlock is not satisfied, the HandyRay-Lite will not operate. A single-use cap should not be reused.
