Metal Seat Ball Valve for High Temperature and High Pressure
BTX metal ball valves for high temperature and high pressure are developed through strict design and selection of materials and lots of tests and simulations. They not only contribute to the enhanced performance of the power plant facilities but also reduce the fuel cost and further preserve the environment of the Earth.
Characteristics of ball valves
Ball valves are developed to be used for high temperature and high pressure fluids of the facilities of the thermal power plant. If the valve is completely opened, the path of the fluid becomes straight and there is no pressure loss. The existing globe valve seat is severely worn by high temperature and high pressure steam containing scales. However BTX ball valve is designed to reduce wear to minimum. As the ball valve is developed to be used for draining steam in the thermal power plant, it can be used for other facilities which use high temperature and high pressure fluids.
- Strong and hard ball and seat
Inconel 718 is used for ball and seat materials and tungsten carbide (WC or CRC) is coated on the ball to enhance its heat resistance and endurance. The hardness becomes 62 (HCR 62) or more after coating.
- Gas leakage shut-off function
Valve has a gas leakage shut-off function and patent registration No. 10-1402245.
The valve is equipped with cover which can shut off the valve when gas leaks to ensure the safety of the operators and eliminate the problems of the piping line involved in the operation of the equipment and minimize the loss of the power plant..
- How to check inside of the valve with eyes
When there is a leakage problem in the conventional ball valve, the valve should be removed from the piping line to check the wear condition of the valve inside after completely disassembly.
- Heat transfer analysis
This shows the distribution of temperature of the valve when the valve is fully opened.
The maximum temperature appears inside of the valve. The upper section of the valve shows temperature of 47.5℃. This shows that the heat is stably transferred to the path of the valve and there is no heat transfer to the upper part or outside of the valve.
WC & CrC Thermal spray coating
This technology is used to prevent the erosion of ball and seat of the valve which are exposed to steam and scales by coating them with WC or CrC from the internal scales and foreign materials by maintaining high hardness at high temperature.
